July 2025: Mobile Suit Zeta Gundam
Hoptimus is joined by the almighty Andrew Knyte to once again get into some anime. This time the seminal Mobile Suit Zeta Gundam (1985). The sequel to the original Mobile Suit Gundam (1979) by Yoshiyuki Tomino. This time the tables have turned and what was once the “good” guys of the Earth Federation have become a group of thugs called the TITANS. Coming to stop them is the Anti Earth Unification Group or AEUG who are fighting for the rights of all citizens on Earth and in Space. Why is the show so special? August 2025: Bubblegum Crisis

ROBOTalk Podcast Ep 003: Greg Finley

In this very special episode, we bring you an exclusive interview with the man behind ROBOTECH’s Captain Gloval… the late Greg Finley, who passed away on February 1st, 2024. This interview was originally recorded in 2010 by our own Tom Bateman, and we’re posting it now in tribute to a great father, husband, friend, and actor to share with his all his family, friends, and fans.

This interview goes into Greg’s life growing up in Beverly Hills, joining the military, and his acting experience with ROBOTECH. He also gets into the difference between playing Captain Gloval and General Leonard on ROBOTECH and then how he fell in love with ADR work overall. Whether you are a longtime ROBOTECH fan or new to the series, this is an episode you won’t want to miss. So, for now, sit back and enjoy this third installment of The ROBOTalk Podcast!


In Memoriam: David Schleinkofer
(1.29.1951 – 4.20.2025)

We at ROBOTalk offer our deepest condolences to the friends and family of David Schleinkofer, the talented artist who brought sci-fi/anime worlds to life. Some of his most well known pieces include artwork for iconic franchises such as The Transformers (G1 toy box art) and the Robotech Novels. We invite you to seek out his work online – especially if you grew up in the 80s … you might be surprised at just how familiar you actually are with his images.

To David: thank you for sharing your wonderful gift with so many of us. May you rest in perfect peace.

In the year 1985 on March 1st, CODENAME ROBOTECH made its debut on American TV, officially kicking off the anime revolution in North America. 3 days later on March 4th, “Booby Trap,” the very first episode of ROBOTECH aired, changing the landscape of animation forever.

Now in March 2025, we’re proud to reveal the debut of the ROBOTalk podcast – A podcast for talking about classic anime, mecha, and many other things. This year we’re celebrating ROBOTECH’s 40th anniversary. And you’re all invited!!

In the meantime… the special ROBOTECH edition of the All Pop No Culture Podcast featuring an interview with our very own Tom Bateman!
